Today we had another fun day in year 4, 5 & 6 full of some healthy competition & a LEGO challenge. To kick off the afternoon strong we had strawberry jelly! This was so exciting for everyone, especially Dana who absolutely loves strawberries.

Then for the second day of Christmas Wars we made a Santa figurine out of legos. Each team worked well together, despite their different opinions, to create an amazing Santa! The boys even had a little Santa assistant and the girls had a reindeer with elves. How creative! Both teams did much better than they expected to.

And guess who won challenge #2? Both teams! We ended in a tie, with both the boys & the girls earning 2.5 points. The boys are still in the lead though, by just 1 point.

Today we also realized how much we are growing in our teamwork skills as we do these challenges together. Miss Kaylah decided that for every day we have Christmas Wars, we will chat as a class & discuss what we learned about teamwork for that day. Today we learned, “If you cooperate & do not fight, you will get so much done.. but if you fight, nothing will get done” says Annika. “Teamwork is good!” Liam added. Not only are we having fun together, we are learning important lessons that will last us a lifetime.

Year 4, 5 & 6 had a successful day growing as friends, as a class as Individuals!

PARENTS: Check out our teamwork whiteboard at the back of the year 4, 5 & 6 wall leaning against the big windows. Everyday that we have a Christmas War day, we will add quotes from different classmates about what we’ve learned about teamwork.
