We made like farmers today in kindergarten and year 1 as we made our name out of carrots!
Before we could get to that we had to deal with afternoon tea. After our fruit we were excited to hear we were having butter chicken. As expected it went down a treat with universally positive feedback.
Our activity today was based on our most well identified crop, carrots. The kids were instructed to cut a triangle out of orange construction paper for each letter of their name and ‘plant’ them on a brown dirt background, remembering to include the green carrot sprouts. What I anticipated to be a challenge was handled very admirably by all. Our inconsistency in size was our biggest weakness but also contributed to making each craft feel unique and personalised. Sophia and abi particularly spent time on their work to great result.
We also found plenty of time for free play with all our favourite activities like the Lego box and the kitchen setup.
As the day came to a close we quietly played some games as our parents began to take us home.
