Today was a fun & exciting day in year 4, 5 & 6! We began with afternoon tea, which was fruit & salami or spinach & cheese subs. Then Miss. Kaylah introduced a new & exciting christmas activity that we are going to do during the lead to christmas! It’s called Christmas Wars 2020 & it’s a boys versus girls competition.

For the first challenge of Christmas Wars 2020, we made Christmas trees out of random craft items that we could find in our craft cabinet. Wesley put a penguin on top of the boys tree & Evie added a star to the top of the girls tree. It took each team nearly 20 minutes to finalize all of the details. The final products were phenomenal! The creativity of year 4, 5 & 6 is impressive.

Miss. Katie helped Miss. Kaylah decide who had the best Christmas tree & the winner was... THE BOYS! The reason they were chosen is because of the immaculate detail of their tree & the amount of decorations that was on it. The girls came very close to beating them though, as they had an amazingly structured star on the top of their tree & it looked very organized. We concluded that the boys would be awarded 3 points & the girls 2 points, for a total of 5 points for the day. This activity brought us closer together as a class because we had to work together as a team & it allowed us to use our creativity together to creat something special.

We are really looking forward to the next challenge, so stay tuned for what that might be! The remainder of the afternoon was filled with free play. The boys played in the after 5 room with the arcade & the girls either read, drew or wrote. We had a great afternoon together!
